A cultural exploration
Throughout history masks have been used in every culture as part of rituals and ceremonies—to celebrate, to mourn, tell stories, or simply to decorate. My mask making workshop offers participants an opportunity to take part in this ancient act of communal creative expression. Participants will have an array of materials from which to choose in designing a mask that can be immediately displayed. They are also welcome to incorporate mementos from home, recycled materials and found objects to personalize the work. The workshop is designed as an open invitation to show that everyone is creative and capable of making meaningful art that expresses who they are.
